Interview with Dr. Jon Eskurza, exclusive endodontist
Dr Jon Eskurza shares his experience with the new microscope Flexion Twin Lite White by Víttrea.
Today we interview Dr. Jon Eskurza, exclusive endodontist and Víttrea user. From his student days, Dr. Eskurza found himself on an unexpected path when a computer error led him to enrol in Biology, almost preventing him from following his dental dreams. However, overcoming obstacles, he discovered his true passion in endodontics.
In 2008, he took a crucial step by acquiring his first microscope, and in 2016, he took his practice to the next level by introducing the first CJ-Optik microscope in Spain to his clinic, followed by the Morita X800 CBCT, fundamental to the development of endodontics. His focus on this discipline is complemented by a deep interest in 3D radiology, supported by his postgraduate degree in Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
In addition to his outstanding clinical work, Dr. Eskurza shares his experience as part of the Amplia Formación Odontológica team, where he teaches apical microsurgery alongside Dr. Adrián Lozano and Dr. Laura Sierra. This year, he has incorporated the innovative Flexion Twin Lite microscope into his practice.
Despite his professional achievements, Dr. Eskurza values his family above all: his wife and three children, who have been his constant support and source of inspiration over the years.
And although his schedule is packed with commitments, he always finds time to enjoy the music and the thrill of rock and roll, reminding us of the importance of keeping our spirits up and our enthusiasm high
Flexion Twin Lite White Microscope| Interview with Dr Jon Eskurza
Dr. Eskurza, what motivated you to incorporate the microscope into your daily practice?
As an exclusive endodontist since 2000, I have been incorporating all the portable equipment to perform endodontics as accurately as possible. In 2008 I decided to open my first practice in order to be able to bring the only thing I could not transport from clinic to clinic, the microscope.
How did you make the leap from the CJ Flexion Advanced microscope to the Twin Lite White? Why did you choose it?
I installed the Advanced model in September 2016 and it was a very important qualitative leap compared to my previous microscope. It was the first CJ-Optik microscope installed in Spain. Eight years later I have decided to renew my commitment to CJ-Optik, and what better way than with this model and its impressive light and image quality.
What are the advantages of using the Twin Lite White microscope and how does it influence your work?
The main advantage of the Twin Lite White microscope is its dual light source and the fact that you can use one or both, as well as regulating their intensity. The advantages of such a powerful light come into play especially when working at magnifications above 1X and for quality documentation at high magnifications.

Has your ergonomics and way of working improved since using the CJ-Optik Twin Lite White microscope?
Coming from the Advanced model, the working ergonomics were very high. It is true that the incorporation of the possibility of taking photos or videos from the microscope itself improves the situation of the Advanced.
In terms of patient experience, what role does the dental microscope play?
The role of the microscope is crucial for the clinician’s ability to work, and therefore for the good of the patient, but fundamentally it is an impressive communication tool with the patient. It allows them to see first-hand how we do such precise work in such a small space. I think it adds value to what we do.

Thanks to Dr. Jon Eskurza for his testimony and, especially, for trusting Víttrea to incorporate his second CJ-Optik microscope in his day-to-day work as an exclusive endodontist.
